DiscountSewer.com ("we," "us," or "our") operates as a local contractor directory and lead generation service for the SF Bay Area. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our website.
Information We Collect
We collect information you voluntarily provide through our contractor matching quiz:
- Description of your sewer or drain issue
- Your city or ZIP code
- Your urgency level
- Optional: name, phone number, and email address if you request direct contractor contact
- Optional: any notes you add about your issue
We also collect standard web server logs, which may include your IP address, browser type, referring page, and pages visited. We do not use cookies for tracking or advertising.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information you provide solely to:
- Match you with relevant licensed sewer and drain contractors in your area
- Send your quote request to contractors on your behalf (if you opt in)
- Improve the relevance and accuracy of our matching service
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.
Local Storage
Your quiz answers are stored in your browser's localStorage so that your results persist during your session. This data never leaves your device unless you choose to submit a quote request. You can clear it at any time by clearing your browser's local storage or site data.
Email Communications
If you submit a quote request and provide contact information, we use Resend (resend.com) to send a notification email to our team. Your contact information is included in that email so we can forward it to matching contractors. Resend processes email on our behalf and is bound by its own privacy policy.
Data Retention
Quiz submissions are logged to a secure server-side log file for operational purposes. Logs are retained for up to 90 days and then deleted. We do not maintain a persistent database of user submissions.
California Residents — CCPA Rights
If you are a California resident, you have the following rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA):
- Right to Know: You may request information about the personal data we have collected about you.
- Right to Delete: You may request that we delete personal information we have collected from you, subject to certain exceptions.
